An old modem. 1200 baud 8-1-N if I remember right. If not it is 2400
What is needed to connect remotely to a old Tracer 100?
An old modem. 1200 baud 8-1-N if I remember right. If not it is 2400
Thanks I connect but don't get the Main Menu. What do I have to do? My Idiot boss puts me on this and gives me nothing to go on!!
You should just be able to hit "enter" or "L" for list. Even if you have the baud set wrong you should get something back, it will just look like jiberish.
Do you have the PCL edit software? The only thing that you can do with hyperterminal is view and adjust, you need PCL edit to program the controller. Make sure that caps lock is on, L is for list, M takes you back as well as navigating menu, S navigates the menu like 3S will select menu item 3. The baud is usually 1200 or 9600. I learned on the Tracer so I'll help you if I can.
Thanks for the help. No I don't have PCL edit software. When I dial it I connect but don't get anything to come up on my laptop. I have hit "enter" "L" and "M"and still nothing will come up. Last time I was at the customer's site I checked the baud rate and it is still at 1200. So I am lost.
Do you have your telnet terminal id set to VT100?
Yes I have it set to VT100,8/N/1 1200. I get nothing on the screen
I live in SC, but if you want to send me the phone number to the Tracer I'll see what I can do and send you the info on how I got online with it.
