    i'm looking for a new one. thinking about a Fuji S3100. 4.0 megapixel and 6x optical. about $250 online. looking for input. i'll just be using for reg pics of kids and dog etc.

    Those little Fujis do a great job. I have an older S-602 3 megapixel and have taken some great shots.

    great investment, not only can you take great pix of family etc, they are awesome for jobsite stuff. there is nothing like beimg able to send a vendor a pic of some oddball control valve etc for them to look at instead of hearing me try to describe it six times on the phone. i use the nikon, 4 megapixel decent zoom, i also have a 128 meg card that allows me to burn something like 2000 pics in a trip. keep takin' em and just delete the ones you dont like. for regular pictures, 4 megapixels is more than enough unless you plan on making posters.
