I recently had my furnace replaced with a Lennox G61 2 stage furnace. I have an 8 year old 3 ton Bryant air conditioning unit and wonder if replacing this unit with a more efficient unit will significantly improve comfort and energy savings. If so, what would you suggest I use as a replacement? I live in Atlanta where summers are hot and humid. Thanks.

Keep your bryant for now. As long as it working.

Depending on what efficiency you are looking into, you have more choices now than you will a year from now. After January 23, 2006 the manufacturers can not produce any AC unit that is under 13 SEER. While there may still be some units around that don't meet the 13 SEER minimum, they may be getting a little hard to find.
