    This is a situation where as a service manager I would take a stand and reluctantly tell the customer that I have no other option than to reinstall the proper equipment properly, you are headed for a lot of trouble with this unit if they turn down your offer to do it properly then just walk away from it it's not worth your time and resources, you will be there every time it gets hot and they will be expecting freebies sooner or later.
