What's the principal behind a variable speed air handler and why is it better than a single speed A/H?

    Uses less power
    Removes more humidity
    more even temps
    quiet
    24/7 air filtration
With your 16i it is required...

Does this mean less dust too? That was a real problem with the old single-speed unit. Of course now I have the Honeywell F200 as well so that should help.

If they have the dip switches set to Comfort R and you leave the fan in the "on" position...
Check that filter every month or 2 to see how it loads up.

    Fan on

As I understand it, if you leave the fan on all the time during the cooling season, you *will* increase humidity in the house. Independent of whether you have the Comfort-R settings (I would consider it an mistake if they did not set up Comfort-R).

Not sure whether that will be a problem in your climate.

You can get a slight increase in humidity after the outdoor unit shuts down, but its not going to jump 10% because you have the fan running 24/7.

as long as your system is charged with the proper super heat and sub-cooling you should not have any problem with any humidity, blower on or off in comfort r
