My friend has convinced me to give it a try next weekend. He grabbed a 23lb blue cat last weekend. Anyone else out there ever tried this sober?

I'm sorry but the idea of being anywhere near a fish as tall as me just doesn't fly... I'll be home on the couch or under my car this weekend if anyone needs me...

From what I was told, in the colder months you are less likely to run across snakes or big turtles. I don't know man, I love to fish but this might be going overboard. I might as well try it once in my life.

Never tried it but saw a good show on PBS about a few families that do it and have for generations. It looks crazy, dangerous, and fun. Thay say if you aint careful they will grab your hand and spin. I guess if they're big enough your wrist will be broken. I got snapped by a blue once removing a hook and it felt like it got hit with a hammer.
