    Air Filter name question

What is the name brand, or type, of those deep gasketed filters that fit into a filter grille designed for a 1" thick filter?

All I see in the Filtrete brand, at the big boxes, are one inch filters.

The contractor showed me a filter that was around 5" deep, fit through the hole in the center of the 16 x 20 filter grille, and had a gasket.

He was going to give it to me as he said he owed me one but I told him to keep it as I am still thinking about filtration. I've got 1" filters in the 3 filter grilles right now, temporarily.

    You might think it a no-brainer, but I don't.

I've seen the ones you asking about on the site before but don't remember the brand. They are a pleated bag filter that has the same filtering area as a 4" media filter but are made to fit a 1" rack.
