    Confused breaker tripping on AHU

my buddy called today and said his breaker tripps every night on his ID unit. we live in Texas not Alaska. anyways he sets his thermostat at 75 in heat and he has a HP with electric heat. I told him it sounded like his strips were having to kick in to help out with the load on colder nights. maybe he has a shorted or grounded heat strip coil? What else could it be?

It could be several things, all of which should be checked out by a technician. Don't mess with electricity unless you know what you are doing...it's bite is much worse than it's bark.
