Thread: HVAC talk board

I have been away from here for a while now, one reason is I have been too busy and another is the so called profesionals on here that are giving out advise. Example: the thread on HRV ductwork out of the two replies Carnack who has been posting for quite awhile had a correct answer, I know there were not that many answers to the question but the question and one answer were so out to lunch they just p**s me off so much that the wife came in here and asked what I was p**sed off about. I know there is no way to monitor wrong or dangerous answers on here, so I guess it is up to some of the real profesionals to try and keep things correct.

Rather than getting piss#d off, why don't you offer the correct information? Rather than fix blame, fix the problem. Don't be destructive, be constructive. Just my opinion.

I will give advise to those seeking any on the Pro's forum those that post questions in other forums only add to HO confusion, if we can't get it right what are Ho's suppose to think when they come on here for info.
troyorr, I am not fixing blame I am only reacting to questions and answers that are so far off that it makes me wonder why they even appear on here when this board is supposed to be for proffesionals. Check out the thread on HRV ductwork for example.

See what happens when you take some time off Doc?
The way we build has a greater impact on our comfort, energy consumption and IAQ than any HVAC system we install.

Doc,
I have worked over a large portion North America, and some question don't have a correct reply, they have several.
One of those topics is ductwork. Depending upon the location what one person considers the absolute correct reply isn't possible in another area because of common practice and code enforcement. Sometimes it turns out there is more than one correct reply.
And because we are human and make mistakes, sometimes we offer bad opinions. That is when we can help each other and the HO that post here to ask questions by raising points for consideration and at times correcting each other. It is the way we learn.
I get upset about IAQ post frequently, but have to remind myself, that not everyone reacts the same way to everything.
