    Tax cuts

Why is it that for years the Democrats screamed about the Bush tax cuts for the Rich, but now they want to extend them and claim the middle class needs them. Does anyone see this as just slightly hypocritical?

BTW what is all this stuff about the middle class lately. Isn't this the group that always was called lower class or lower middle class. I guess those terms are no longer politically correct.

Ask George Soros and other pasty old elites of his ilk. They call the shots. Democrats vs. Republicans is dog and pony if you have not caught on yet.

That's why "Republicans" are being replaced with "conservatives."

The Dems already replaced their "moderates" with "hard left ideologues."

The question is this: will we be able to return America to a Constitutional Representative Republic?

We have never been a "democracy."

,ost of the wealthy have remained that way during the downturn, possibly even doing better in some cases. The poor, well they will always be poor. so whats left is middle class, which is most of the working class folks who have been affected by the economy. This represents a large portion of the total voting public, so guess who they are trying to please? especially after they have been sent a message at the latest elections.

The problem as I see it is if the Bush tax cuts expire in about a MONTH everyone will be paying considerably higher taxes than they are now. The Democrats want it to expire for those earning over $250,000 and the Republicans don't want it to expire for anyone no matter how much they make. Hopefully they will figure out a way to make it work or to my knowledge we are all going to be paying more, rich or poor(middle class)!

The democrat play on this is to try and and foster a sense of class warfare, hoping to portray the "rich" as not paying their fair share of taxes, and so the Bush tax cuts should be allowed to expire for them.

There are two problems with this:

    1) the so-called rich pay far more than any poor person does in taxes, in actual dollars AND as a percentage of taxable income.

    2) the so-called "rich" are the ones who hire people. Are you getting any calls from the really "poor" people for new systems? Ever been given a job by a "poor" person?

Nope. We rely on the rich to invest, build companies, develop inventions, and shoulder the great portion of our tax burden.

A truly "fair" tax system would have everyone pay the same percentage of income, period.

    Here is a prediction.
Both the democrats and republicans will scrap over what to do with tax CUTS.
Then they will NOT do anything and BOTH will BLAME the OTHER.
While you and I pay MORE taxes and the economy gets worse.....

With the democrat's plan all workers get a tax cut on the first $250,000 of earned income.

If this not done you would have to cut over $800 billion over the next decade from the budget to offset this.

We have the greatest consolodation of wealth since uncoincidentally since 1928. We have been steadily losing the middle class since 1980. Soon we will be more like Mexico than the United States we use to know.

How much have the same people's user fees, local taxes, retail prices, insurance costs, etc gone up much due to the Dem's policies? And what is their share of the national debt after the last two years? And if they woud have succeeded in getting cap and tax passed, it would be even worse.

People making under $250K have less money in their pockets now than they did two years ago. The Dems did them no favors.

The middle class has been doing with less and less since 1980. Except for an upswing in the 1990's.

Obama has cut taxes to the middle class. With the republicans in power the middle class has been doing worse and worse even during supposedly good times.
