I found it because I used to (And still do sometimes) post and lurk in alt.hvac, the group on Usenet.

I also used to go to alt.hvac but then I found this site.
I liked alt.hvac for a while but there is just too
much bashing and fighting over there. I feel that 90% of the time a poster asks a question over there they get the crap beat out of them by someone who thinks that they are God's Gift to the HVAC World and How dare a POS homeowner ask a question?

Hey, I'm a homeowner too and if I ever would like to post a question to say, "Roofing.com," or maybe "Windows are us" I hope not to get treated like you would at alt.hvac. I don't mean to bash them, but they do seem negative and too into themselves.

Since I stumbled here (can't remember how) I rarely ever go back. Maybe I'll give it another chance....
