can I have a thermostat?
My fireplace has a fan that can be turned on or off and a knob to increase/decrease the flame. Is it possible for this type of fireplace to be controlled by a thermostat?
Will the thermostat just control the fan?

Also check the rating plate for an ANSI listing number. If it is tested as a heating appliance you should be able to use a thermostat, if it is a decorative appliance then you should not use a thermostat.

I'm not a gas log specialist but I do know that the units I've seen that work that way have electronic control valves. (as in remote control) I was wanting to buy one and they are not cheap!
Every problem gives us the opportunity to choose from several solutions: stupidity, ignorance, indifference, or brilliance. Which one will you choose?
