I need an old PPCL manual so I can add a few points to my existing system. In addition I want to set up alphanumeric paging on alarm. The only I/O I have is a dumb terminal(vt100) and a epson printer. I have 3 processors controlling about 100 Seimens TEC VAV controller programmed with application 2021. The PPCL presently controls the condensor water system and supply fans for 8 30 ton units.

I have siemens insight software at ojne of our sites on the head end
I went into program editor under "help" it list all the commands and syntax.
If you are familiar with Basic then this is no problem
It is very simular to Basic
Loop (arguments) is the basic PID control loop.

Does anyone have a PDF of the any of the Siemens manuals? Are there any books/manuals that are non-proprietary for PPCL programming? How similar are Visual Basic and PPCL? I’m trying to get a job w/ Siemens and want to get a leg up… without spending the large sums of money for the Siemens training… anything would help me… thanks
    Still learning....

Hmmm, I have 3 comments here:

    1) If you have any base skills\education at all, it should be easy to get a job with Siemens as there are currently many openings.
    2) Once you get a job, Siemens will provide the training.
    3) Yes, I have a PPCL manual in PDF and you can legally have a copy if you don't have one yet. Email me at if you still need one.
    4) Creating code that will dial out and deliver a number to a pager is not detailed in the PPCL manual. If you are familiar with such things, you'll be able to figure it out tho. It's a cheap way to get pager messages but rather limited as you can imagine.

Will it be at all possible for you to E-Mail me or provide a link for the PPCL .pdf that you refer to in the quoted post?

I am the system operator in a building with 7 System 600 cabinets and would like to understand more about PPCL programming. We operators have a dumb terminal interface. The BOSS has the insight computer locked in the office where it can do us no good.

Hi ! I am also in need of a PPCL manual, I am applying for a job
that requires a working knowledge of the apogee system and I have not
used Insight 3.3 or the Apogee in about 3 years. I really would like to have a manual.
