    I Guess Propane....

OXFORD, Pa. (AP) _ A man was severely burned and his house was destroyed in a propane explosion, police said.

The injured man was identified as Nelson W. Crews, 46, of Elk Township, Chester County.

An investigation showed that a propane fireplace had been intentionally disconnected, allowing propane gas to escape into the home, state police said. The gas ignited Thursday, burning Crews and destroying the house.

No one else was injured, police said.

A vehicle parked at the home was also destroyed, but Crews' home was far enough from his neighbors' that their homes were not damaged.

Once when I was a kid went to look at a house with my dad, up the street. A split level ranch type. It had a gas leak and an explosion. The house looked pretty good from the outside except for the missing windows, but when you opened the front door the entire first floor was gone, you looked right down into the celler, crazy, I never forgot that.
