How about some kind of "watch list" for people who complain about displays of patriotism?
It's a mechanical device, designed by humans, built by humans and operated by humans. What could possibly go wrong?

Tell the students who didn't like the display of the American Flag to GTFO of the country then and go home to Guatemala or Honduras or Mexico and take their families with them.

I just get tired of reading about crap like this. An extremist wouldn't be the worst thing I've ever been called

Not really any different than those students that were sent home from school because they wore t-shirts with the American flag last 4th of July.

Now if the kid was stepping on the flag or burning it he would have been hailed a hero.

We should send RexKwonDo to Modesto to fix this mess. Seriously though, how is it that someone living under the freedom of the American flag is offended by the sight of it. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this one.

Seems that the outcry over this has them rethinking. Now it was 'for the kid's safety'. Hmmm, let's see, you have kids making threats so you make the kid that is getting threatened change his behavior. Yeah, that makes sense.

Now they say they will let Cody fly his flag. Good job Americans!

Where is the inconsistancy? Their first duty was for the child's safety. Maybe it was the reporting or people jumping to conclusions. They think they know who the kids complaining-threatening are and they are going to address that. Ask Californian members and they are probably aware of tensions similar to this. In ways it is probably good that it came to a head like this where they can discuss it openly now.

So, they 'think' they know who is behind the threats but it's now okay for Cody to fly his flag.

What exactly changed from the day before when the supervisor told Cody he couldn't fly his flag any more? Oh, that's right, thousands of Americans commenting and letting them know what they've done is WRONG.

Seriously, if they needed this to know what should have been done then they need new jobs.

There is a lot of tension in some schools in California over flags, usually Mexican flags. There was a lot of talk about Cinco De Mayo but it was short on facts. I'd be curious what happened and what actions were taken. I am a little curious about the decision process but I do not doubt that the child's safety was the first concern of the officials there.
