That was my number in the que when I called the VA hospital to make an appointment this morning.

Once you make an appointment you can expect to wait another 3-6 weeks to see "someone" not necessarily a doctor.

I don't normally go to the doctor unless I am extremely ill, broken in some fashion or bleeding profusely.

In most cases I would assume that a person would be dead or over it in 3-6 weeks.

Consequently the VA ER becomes the only way to receive care in a useful/timely way unless you are simply going in for a check up.

This is goverment run health care on a very small scale 8M. Imagine if the government was tasked with caring for 300 million+ people.
