Some of the union shops in Charlotte;
Mckenneys Inc., Padgett Services, Airtight Mechanical,
York, and Carrier.
Scale wont be as high as in NYC, but a lot of these places do pay over scale for the right people.
Good Luck..

however, the employees at the Wachovia CIC who do the in-house are not. They may be an open-closed shop type deal.In honor of Murray Woodgate (aka Carnak) 1961 - 2010

I interviewed with Padgett back in August, they never said anything about being union.Other than that they seem to be a great company. At one time they were close to shutting down the Charlotte operation but have made some managment changes and are turning things around.

Charlotte, NC
I lived in the Charlotte area for almost three years. We had relocated from Southeast Michigan. My wife and I loved Charlotte. The weather is excellent, the city if very diverse (lots of "Yankee" transplants). Things will obviously move a lot slower than you are used to in NY. We lived in NJ/NY area after Charlotte and I can tell you that they are different worlds. If you can manage the same $$$ in Charlotte, you will make out really well. I figured a 35 % raise would break even on the move to NJ (Summit). It fell a little short, but 35 - 40 percent should cover it. Good Luck!
