1. Why is it OK to multiply a number by zero
but it does not make a sense to divide it by zero?

Because it violates a law of mathematics. If it were permissible, then zero divided by zero would equal one, and we know that's not true. See the following link - maybe it will help. http://mathforum.org/dr.math/faq/faq.divideby0.html

Why is dividing by zero "illegal"?

You may want to contact an attorney on that.

As you divide with smaller numbers, the quotient becomes larger- the quotient of a number divided would be therefore a huge number- infinity, so it can be done, but the quotient is "undefined".
So...to illustrate-
divide 2 by 1= 2, div 2 by .1=20, divide 2 by .000000000001= 2,000,000,000,000 and so on as you approach zero, where it just becomes infinite or better term-undefined.

And why is any number to the power of zero equal to one.

8³ = 512
8² = 64
8¹ = 8
8º = 1

Who passed that law? Must have been them damn Replublicans.

9. and zero raised to the power of zero is one as well

think it was the arabs who invented zero

It was real quaint to think we all came from Adam & Eve. They lived in a garden ... for awhile anyway.

But to think we all came from Noah and his famlly, who went on to become the Hebrews and from them came the Arabs .... and to realise we all have the same lineage ... kinda makes some of us question our tight to be prejudice.

(I mean, only those of us who use rational thought paterns)

It is not OK!

That is fraud perpetrated by General Motors to sell cars.
It all began with claims of "0% financing"

When I was in school we learned there was no such thing!
