Well you are partly right, it is not offensive. With all due respect it is not meant to be funny. And the attention for a thoughtful person should be focused somewhere other than where you are looking. Below is Printer's opinion of it, which I share but could not phrase so eloquently.

Late coming to this thread. Heard a bit on this avatar but I think those that find it offensive miss the message. It is not an attack on Jesus or Christianity but on those that take the opinion that we as a society should not help those that are less fortunate than us. Because Jesus would not utter those words it is actually an attack on those that do utter those words and proudly proclaim themselves as Christians.

How many here have promoted getting ride of programs to help those in need such as a universal health care system? How many have said to get rid of programs to help those at the lower end of the spectrum that have minimal income and have a problem feeding themselves? Programs to help those to lift themselves out of dire circumstances? Is this what Jesus would do?

The cartoon of Jesus and the sick man does not hit at Jesus but at those that go against his teachings. Those that would rather call those in need just a bunch of socialists

I get the point of the picture, but I still find it a bit immature.

As far as social programs go, my problem is not with programs designed to help people get back on their feet. My problem is that so much of the money goes to people who have no intention or desire to help themselves and are perfectly willing to spend their entire lives making do with whatever they are handed.
It's a mechanical device, designed by humans, built by humans and operated by humans. What could possibly go wrong?

Socialists feel the same way. They just have a problem changing things as they are scared to cause unintentional harm.

Funny you didn't allude to its meaning before. The only thing immature about it has been the comments from critics. I have found our exchanges to be very disappointing.

Well I find it very hatefull and an attack rather you want to admit it or not and you can put that into your pipe and smoke it. Thank you very much.

"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution."

I find that many "Christians" are ignorant of their own faith. Just like the recent Pew survey found.

    Happy Veteran's Day Glenn.
