    Anyone familiar with or using this relativly new technology? I gather it is being tested in various parts of the country and was wondering about the pros or cons associated with it.

    not yet, but got the plasma cutter ready.

    BPL is suppost to transmit data via the electric lines. Should be great for rural areas with no broadband access. Ham radio operators complain of interference though. Thinking it's being tested on large scale in Cincinatti, OH.

    buy a frickin computer! What percentage of the world uses HAM anyhoo? 1 in a 1000?

    The only thing I heard of like that was the new system and meters used by the power companies. They transmit data and usage back to the power companies, that's why ya don't see the meter readers coming around anymore.
    Never heard of the other stuff, nothing would surpise me though.
