Big mother Trane with pics

The 90 ton Trane unit is here. Next problem. The crane we booked to unload this bady is frozen up. It is a 80 ton crane and it is only 2 months old. The crane company is trying to get another crane just so we can unload this monster.

The "frozen crane" story is just an excuse. In reality, they figured that an 80 ton crane couldn't possibly lift a 90 ton trane...

That thing is crazily huge. That would be a great job to work on. Nothing in that size will ever come to our area. What type of establishment is that going in to?

I have 35 (40) ton Trane Intellipaks on my 10 acre roof.

Thats 140 compressors, and a buttload of filters. But I have have learned to use the filter alarm. I have calibrated all of the filter switches with a magnehelic so that I only change the filters when needed. Its amazing how filters load up depending on what area the unit is serving.

Anyway looks like a familiar sight to me, Benny.

I see it got the over-the-road salt spray test. You probably won't get a chance to wash that beast down until spring.

That must be the largest single A/C unit in the whole state, huh Benn? If not, it's got to be close.

The crane probably froze up just thinking about hefting that monster.

be nice to service if they curb it,if it is up there 6" ladder plus see about decking from the exhaust louvers to access doors up along and around the condenser.HI-UCP 2 is very user friendly and PMs are easy...is it VAV with VFDs might have 2 supply fan motors also.

Okay the unit is off the truck on and on the ground.

The driver spent the night at my house. So he only charged me the an extra 350 instead of the usual $500. But he is back on his way to Quebec.

The crane company sent over the owner to operate the little crane just so we could get this on the ground and get the trucker out of here. Old Clyde is in his 80's. "Bought his first crane in 1948." he said today.

Anyway the new 80 ton crane is suppose to have the new computer installed this after noon. So we might get out of the parking lot and on to the roof.

Where was the unit shipped from? Montreal? I know there is a Trane office near here, on Pitfield blvd. That would have been interesting.

No the unit was made in Tennesee. Trane hired an independent trucker to bring the unit up. He was a nice guy. He even jumped in there and gave us a hand with the rigging.

He lives inbetween Montreal and the border. Not bad he'll be home for Christmas.
