my 21 yr. old nephew just took a road trip to buffalo with 4 friends to see a football game and party.
they decided to go into canada after visiting many bars in buf.
get pulled at the border and asked to search the vehicle. nothing was found. passed their id's through some kind of scanner and found drug residue on them. the drug residue was actually named as coke, pot, and hash.(i always thought pot and hash were the same, but there is my lack of knowledge).
according to my nephew the one w/ the coke was real(they strip searched him, found nothing) the guy w/ the hash hasn't used in 2 years, and the pot one was so minimal it wasn't a problem.
these guys went to 5 different bars in buf., had at least 5 different bouncers/bartenders/waitresses handle their id's.,and get hassled for residue on their id's crossing. does this happen to everyone who has had to show an id. somewhere.
i guess the bottom line is get a new id card before going to canada, place in a platic bag. when you get to the border to spend your cheap american dollars to support the canadian economy, turn around and go back home.
Sounds like bs to me. I'de tell'm to KMA.
I would like to say: "Ya run with the dogs, ya get treated like one!"
But the truth of the matter is more like .... it could happen to you and me just as easily.
Reason being ... just step into a place like Disneyland or simular place of massive humanity.
You could go to a public school and maybe find the same handprints as those bars.
It doesnt mean someone is a user just because they have their ID handled by users.
Maybe we need to spray our ID's down with contact cleaner prior to border crossings ....
Or use handi-wipes...
sounds like BullSh$t to me ... kids, probably late at nite = A Target of Opportunity ... usually the problem is comin' back to th US ... yea, they want your money, they collect $$$$$$$$ at the border for "violations" ... mostly this sorta crap

I dont care much for Canada anyway. The people are nice but their Govt, leaves something to be desired. I Hope I never have to go through again. When we travel south, we fly or in the case we move back were are going by water. It was bad enough that they will not allow an American citizen to transport a sidearm (on a road we built). But now they want to tax your longguns.
Now our Govt. wants to baby these tyrants. The new Gas line they are wanting to put through from our north slope to the lower 48, they want to take through this socialist nation and allow them to glean all the petrocarbons off of it for free. Of course all the plastic companies are ready to do this, with cheap canadian labor, as well as, the gas companies that want to get it to a high market in the US. But the people of Alaska, who actually own the Gas, Dont really have any say, thanks to crooked politicians that see it as a step up to the D.C. plate - for the most part we Alaskans want it to go to tidewater at Valdez and have a Gas to Liq. plant so we can sell and export keeping the money and jobs at home.
I like Canada better than any other Country, but then look what I have to choose from. China and Mexico. I choose to spend my money on USA made Goods, whenever I can.
I would tell my kids to stay out of the bars and stay out of Canada. And Hope they listen.
The only thing socialist about Canada is our medicare system.

Canada is the toughest border going into in fact it easier to get out then in and mexico helll they wave everyone in and if you have weapons, drugs, anything else illegal the Mexican officials are always willling to be hospitable for $20. I went to college at St Bonaventure near Buffalo and was harassed there quite a few times they dont like the idea of american college kids coming into their place for the sole cause of drinking heavily their high alcohol content beer but you think what with the canadian dollar like worth 10 cents american they would roll out the red carpet and have the royal mounties escort us to the nearest strip joint but no they would harass us and detain us as long as possible so when we got there the bars where just about closed. This from a country that is trying to get government subsidized crack houses legalized they already subsidize shooting galleries. As for that strip check thing of licenses...in the USA that analysis of drugs would never hold water they determined a long time ago drug residue evidence of dollar bills was inadmissable after it was determined roughly 70 % of the bills have drug residue on them so all that would have to be said is the license/id was carried in my wallet in my billfold area and that would pretty much end the discussion.
BUT TALKING ABOUT O'CANADA HERE IS MY IDEA:
Personally I view Canada as the retarded giant at our doorstep which we should just get it over with annex them. then set up one huge prison system there where all state and federal prisoners willl be incarcerated. Then anyone with Aids,Sars, or any infectious disease we should quarantine there. All people in Quebec would be required to speak Spanish. And the "Je me souverns" on the back of their license plates wil be officially changed to be translated to "We drive like ****" in English.
Of course we would have to allow there breweries remain open. That, legalized prostitution, talented toothless hockey players and Pamela Anderson are the only redeeming qualities of this retarded giant. I mean nobody can really argue with the excellence of a good brew and a good blow job all for under $10. It will be sad to see their currency go but hopefully they make it on recycled paper so we can give it to prisoners we send there to use as toilet paper. Bye Bye Canada!

now tell us what you REALLY think.
The Humid 1
A few months ago the John C. Stennis visited my home town. I drank a beer in a local pub with a couple of the enlisted men on shore leave. One fellow was from San Diego and although he was only 20, I was impressed by what an intelligent, polite man he was. These are traits which you obviously lack.
I believe our border guards specificaly target stupidity and arrogance attempting to enter our fine country.
Perhaps this is why you have such a tough time at the border.

I love my job, but paydays Thursday
I recently visited Niagara Falls, Canada. Crossed the border three times in a couple of days.
I found the border patrol agents to be extremely polite and very professional. I even joked about them not stamping my U.S. passport to one agent who asked me if I wanted it stamped and at my request did so.
I have no idea if they passed my I.D. through any kind of scanner or not. I would have to say the agents that checked the young men so thoroughly did so based on their basic demeaner. Not saying that those young men were a criminal element but as has been mentioned, you must be very careful of who you associate with.
In the U.S. it is not allowable to introduce cocaine traces on paper money as evidence because it is estimated that most American money has traces of cocaine on it.

Are you serious humid 0ne?
well how about you yanks and your security finger printing every one whom enters the states except us canadian retards. even if you are in transit and not entering the us you still get finger printed. and what about the redicilious airport security I took my shoes off and belt off and watch off, emptied my pockets and still I set off the metal detector. oh good I get a secondary search so the guy waves a wand and then determines its my metal pant fly setting off the detector, but then decides that he has to pat me down and do a body search anyway, remember I'm with my wife and two small children and have just got off a long flight from Australia, and have been completly polite and cooraptive. I had no desire to stop in LA its just the way the flights are scheduled,
I personally have found Canadian border guards to be the polite and reasonable every time I have crossed the border.
As for the gas line from Alaska to the lower 48 bite me you want to run a gas line through Canada then you have to pay the retarded giant for the privilage of doing so.
And as for you general tone this is why you yanks are disliked by so many people around the world with yanks like the humid one spouting off in such an offensive manner its easy to understand why so many people from other countries cant stand yanks.
as for bribable border guards would you guys like american guards and canadian guards to be bribable? i dont think so
the thing about quebecers plates being translated to we drive like **** is funny though.

Well I just like to stir the pot and give a little pulse to this forum sometimes but I did get harassed by canadian border patrol although probably for good reason but I have gotten liquored up and thrown out of much better places than Canada. Its just with the dollar conversion its cheaper to get tossed out of Canada.
And the part of Quebec drivers is true. Other than that if they can produce a Pam Anderson type every five years I guess I could be convinced not to annex them.
