God, that must be expensive. And illegal too.
A bidding contractor- "flowing nitrogen is a pain. I just rinse with R12."
Common?

Not as lean, not as mean, but I'm still a hardcore, ass-kicking, hard charging Marine! Oohrah!
NOT COMMON.... HE'S ASKING FOR A BIG FINE???????
I usually rinse it with water.
how many ppl have actually been caught red handed venting into the atmosphere ?
If he is running r12 through it after braze the oxide is still in the pipe.
r 12 he must be joking
Some old timers used r11 to flush. There is a current product called rx11 flush that you can use that doesn't really contain any r11. That stuff is expensive and a pain to use...much more so than nitro. Don't use that contractor...he sounds like a bit of a hack if he told you nitro brazing is too hard.
Leadership...the ability to move forward even when you've burned your foot.
Thanks. Will steer clear.

Still gotta use nitrogen to push the flushing agent through.
Why not do it right once and be done?
R-12, huh.
WOW.
I really thought it was a joke. YIKES!!!!
I call BS
I'm not tolerating Political Correctness anymore, from now on it's tell it like it is.

somebody here quotes the differance betwean genius and stupidity is that genius has limits
think that applies here
I was taught if you have to flush a system to flush it with a commercially available flushing agent. You still have to use nitrogen or argon to get it out of the system. I know at one time r-12 was how it was done. I for one would avoid any contractor who says he does things like this. It kinda makes me wonder what else this guy does the wrong way.
It is Bull Excrement
