Hey guys I'm posting a few questions that I am not sure what the answers are. Let me know what you guys think, as many responses as possible would be greatly appreciated

#1 The heat loop in a heat pump is connected to?
A. Evap + cond.
B. Evap
C. Cond.

#2 With a 3 Phase 440Volt 4 Wire Power supply, How would you change the Rotation of a 115 VOLT Compressor?
A. Switch 2 Service lines
B. Switch 2 Compressor leads
C. Switch Windings in comp.
D. Switch Block leads in electrical Head.

#3 On a Hermetic Comp. the vibration absorber is?
A. Perpendicular to the crankshaft and clamped at the comp.
B. Parallel to the crankshaft and clamped at the opposite end.
C. Parallel to the crankshaft and clamped at the opposite end.
D. Pependicular to the crankshaft and clamped at the opposite end.

#4 If a sensor bulb was not working properly and would need to be replaced by?
A. Electronic bulb
B. Averaging bulb

#5 As the suction pressure increased the Averaged oil pressure would?
A. increase
B. Decrease
C. Stay Approx the same

#2 and #4 make no sense...whoever wrote these questions needs a clue and should be taking the course instead of teaching it.

#5 The terminology is wrong. You have gauge oil pressure and net oil pressure. The gauge pressure will rise with the suction. The net oil pressure remains the same ( gauge pressure minus suction pressure = net oil pressure.)

I agree completly... thats why I am asking!! Normally for oil pressure I have heard of gross oil pressure and net oil pressure.. not averaged! These questions come from a Commercial Refrigeration Certificate of Qualification competency exam!

I was thinking
#1 a- Since it's a heat pump and it's not very clear.

#2 b- assuming the 115v is a typo

#3 d- Since I know it has to be 90 degrees to the vibration and clamping it at the opposite end sounds better.

#4 b- electronic bulb doesn't make much sense

#5 a- Not sure what they mean by average, but average definetly doesn't mean NET to mean, so I would think it would go up like the gross oil pressure would.

What do you think spotts?

By the way this is a certification exam(journeyman exam)and these are apparantly questions asked on previous writings of this exam. Although they have a bank of hundreds of questions, these may come up.

#4. Pretty damn vague. I don't know how that question could have 1 answer.

#5. Don't even know how you would read oil press. Must be a commercial Q.
