Whats happening here???
Ive got one child liberal following me accusing me of following and harassing him???
We have more radical liberals flowing into this place every day, they never post on the tech forums, just bounce in a post inflammatory or nonsensical gibberish.
I started looking up some of the things these people are into, like this.
http://liberal-pride.org/forums/inde...act=boardrules
This is hysterically funny , that a group that claims to be so tollerant was banning trolls immediately, it reads.
We're going to try something a little different; instead of banning trolls outright, they will be restricted to posting in a forum called the Troll Confinement Area. Banning immediatly, no freedom of speach and the labeling?
Why cant we do something like this?
Why do we let so many libs come here and abuse our members , use our rules against us? Im sure nothing would piss them off more than using their own punishment against them.
Printer, i respect ya, as i do Dice but you two have to feel like the only person on your block to even have a job. Its not even two of you, your surrounded by people who make your belief system look bad.You sure are cocky for a starving pilgrim.

From their rules
[COLOR="Red"]GLOVES OFF. There is an area where members may take off the proverbial gloves and duke it out in flame battles. This is called the Gloves Off area. The normal rules of conduct as laid out above, except for Rules 2 and 3, do not apply.[COLOR="Red"]
How awesome is that, they can break their own rules.
Im seriously considering becomeing a lib, ,,,,,,you can justify anythingYou sure are cocky for a starving pilgrim.

It is futile to mention this again.... But we need a pro-ARP area to give us protection from the trolls.
I draw all my schematics in crayon now. If they cannot always be correct, they can at least be colorful.
Service calls submitted after 3PM will be posted the next business day.
I give free estimates [Wild Ass Guesses] over the phone.
I am not in business to make money from other people so that I can afford to work for you for free.
If the fall is over, mmmm let's say, 6 feet or so,.. I do not 'bounce' very well.

That's the thing. I don't want to come here and try to have a discussion with Kroger and Walmart employees. Intelligent diversity of opinion is very good. Wise cracks funny. Different folks have different ways of looking at things. But HVAC guys honestly have a kinda minimum standard for the ability to think.
**I am not calling anyone an idiot**
But we do have some posters here who I figure are prolly sacking groceries by day, not that there is anything wrong with that....I draw all my schematics in crayon now. If they cannot always be correct, they can at least be colorful.

A Pro ARP would help keep out trolls and propagandists who find us on Google, but I suspect activity would drop dramatically too.
At this point, pro-membership or even being in the HVAC/R field is not required to post in ARP. I do wonder, however, why some of the members who claim to be HVAC people have not applied for pro-status. That does make us a bit suspicious and it tends limit the level of respect that a member would receive from other members.
We have clearly had a recent influx of posters with a more liberal POV. That in itself is fine, all points of view are welcome here. The problems we're having is with newbs (and some existing members) coming in too strong with name calling, insults, and a generally rude attitude. Then some of the regular members respond with the same kind of crap. Then we have the flame wars and nasty arguments we've seen lately.
The ARPC is getting pretty tired of this, so let me try and make things clear for the newbs and others too;
1-Read the rules and be sure you understand them
2-You can discuss anything you want that is even loosely within the approved topics here, and be on whatever side of it you want. We honestly don't care which side you're on.
BUT...all of you will be expected to abide by the rules and keep it civil. You can have intelligent discussion without all the name calling, rudeness, slinging insults, or attempting to belittle another poster. Derogatory remarks about spouses, children, or other family members are a big no-no.
If another poster starts with this stuff; better to report the post instead of falling to that level and responding in-kind. That way the ARPC or the mods can deal with that person appropriately. When both sides is down in the mud, we have to sanction either everyone involves or no one.
I will state again that the owners of this site feel very strongly that those of us in this business should act like the professionals we claim and aspire to be. That goes for ARP too. Remember, potential customers can read what you post here. In the near future, there may be a feature on this site that allows B&M members to advertise their businesses. Those of you who work for others are also on display here. Keep in mind that the stuff you post could be viewed by potential customers or employers. What kind of impression do you want to make?

(If anyone is referring to me.)
I have not applied for pro status because I have not needed the technical help required in the pro area. I'm also not quite sure about one of the procedures. I am not that computer savvy.
I also believe the name calling is so one sided it is ridiculous. 90+% of the time it starts with the regulars IMHO. This is not meant to stir things.

If there is any chance of serious consideration... Might I suggest a "Trial" ARP for pros only? Even a separate ARP? Not to close this one but but I do get tired of the foolishness. I can take any amount of hostility to the degree I am allowed to "return fire", but the foolishness is just unbearable at times.
