My expirience is that it is best to buy something either not needed or something that makes her life easier. A new appliance is usually not the key. Unless your lady is like mine. My wife loves being in the kitchen. It's totally her domain. Sorry. I guess thats probably not much help. Good luck, and Merry Christmas.
I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart.

My wife goes nuts about having something in her stocking.
That is the hardest part about this whole Christmas shopping thing.
Being that you are on a limited budget you could get her a bunch of kitchen gadgets for a big stocking.
And does she have a digital camera yet? They have some really good ones for about that price range. With 5 kids she certainly would have enought photographic subject matter. If you already have a digital camera a color printer for pictures is a good thing.

Get her a bowling ball with the name "Homer" on it.
The way we build has a greater impact on our comfort, energy consumption and IAQ than any HVAC system we install.

Just give her a card in her stocking saying you wont turn into Scott Peterson......she will really appreciate that, if she beleives it.
