    Fun from Home Warranty

System was replaced back in early summer, and the "Tech" couldn't figure out why a breaker kept tripping when the electric heat came on. The "Tech" told the lady a electrician needed to fix the problem.

Two 30 amp breakers, with 10 gauge wire feeding a 10 Kw heat package.

The Tech flipped the breaker around for the "new feed".

I pulled out the 30 amp and replace with a 60 amp, and ran a new piece of 6-2 wire and went in thru the knockout.

BTW: even though the diconeect had two 30 amp breakers, he only used one, and fed the 60 amp with the 10 wire. Good thing the breaker did trip out.

More like "lucky"! Bet that wire got nice and toasty. Maybe that's how they got extra efficiency...

The bad part is, this isn't the first time I've been in behind this guy either. I hate to think what else is out there that I haven't seen.

I've had several customers tell me, that they didn't want that company (1 man shop) back in their homes.

now classsssss. 10KW is about 43 amps, on a 30 amp breaker, 10AWG is good for about 30 amps, no worries will make the whole wire a strip and really heat the house up..... yeah, thats the ticket......
