    Question Question about error codes??

I have a Trane XL13c installed in September 08. Haven't had any trouble at all till now. I am getting error code 2: hour block out no flame. I have the guy coming over tomorrow to check it out, but I want to sound like I know a little about what he is doing. I would like at least understand what he is saying when he tells me what it means. Please help

If you trust your tech, I wouldn't worry. Sounds like a simple fix.
If not, parts should be under warranty.

If he is a good tech, he will explain everything to you. If you don't understand what he is saying don't feel embarrased, let him know and hopefully he will try to explain it in a different way. We deal with people who don't know anything about HVAC every day and have learned how to talk with them. Good luck!

Just ask him any questions you have.

If you don't trust the guy. Don't use him.

Well it was a simple fix, and I figured out the codes on my own before the tech got here. The Flame roll out switch was the problem. Replaced for $. I love my cousin Ben who is the best heating and air guy around. Thanks Ben

I HOPE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!!!!!!!!!! A FLAME ROLL OUT SWITCH IS NOT FOR DYI TO BE MESSING WITH. IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING YOU COULD BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN. MOREOVER, YOUR COUSIN BEN SHOULD NOT BE GIVING YOU ADVICE WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE FURNACE.

My cousin Ben did the work, He is a licensed HVAC Tech. He works for Superior Heating and Air. I would never try to work on anything that I didn't know about. But Thank you for your concern.

    That wasn't the problem.

    Something else is the problem.

When you have a cold. There is no cure. but you can get medicine to treat the symptoms.

The roll out switch was a symptom of the problem You might want to have cousin Ben come back and find the real problem.

I agree with beenthere. The roll out sw. is not the problem.

I agree that a flame rollout switch is unlikely to be the cause of the problem. If it's opening, it's probably opening for a reason.
