Were the original clamps twisted into junk because the paint was not removed from the threads the first time the filter was changed?

Yep , that's why the orig. tech said he didn't use them. It was a costly mistakeWere the original clamps twisted into junk because the paint was not removed from the threads the first time the filter was changed?

You'll need to install the stainless steel pipe, you'll find the issue will go away.

Carriers had problems on the vibration of that line checkout a few of the service Bulletins, look at a new XR and see how they changed its lenght from the oil cooler, anyway I have cut the line as soon as it passes the the trns ducer and right before the tee going to the bearings and had a compatible 134A hose made that I could put a loop in it. I,ve done this on a few machines with the high vibration on that line and they have been on for serveral years with no problem. Hope this helps you out
