    McQuay WSC050-BAAA

I have two 2005 WSC050 chillers with Microtech controls and liquid cooled oil cooler. We have had several proplems with the chillers they are both losing oil and one is tripping at night on high oil temp. Checked the oil cooler and there seems to be no problem with the cooler. Can someone tell me why they are loosing oil and why the high oil temp ?

    Thank you.

Check for the obvious things. Right condenser temps and flow and evap entering and leaving? oil temps? pump pressures?

Can you trend the night time operation and look for low condenser temps?

Maybe low load, or running too wet in the evap?

We did find the oil pressure regulator almost all the way in. Changed oil filter to get oil pressure up were it needs to be. Its odd that both are lossing oil, one has five refrigerant leaks we need to repair I am shore its low on gas again.

On that compressor if the oil level is too high the low speed gear will churn up the oil and cause feed temps shouldnot be out of top sight glass.
