Follow the wiring diagram, its a simple problem for someone trained to read them.

An experienced tech would not need a diagram for that problem.

I've had some ancient pieces that had NO wiring diagram left on it

    beenthere,
when i started in 1983 most of the units i worked on in calif were heating only and had no fan center.

i was getting pretty good at heating and came across my first unit with cooling and a fan center.
ofcourse being the brilliant tech i was and knowing all about hvac and electrical! I ripped out the old Mars fan center and ran to cd jones and got a new one.
got back to the job and the wires were different colors on the Steveco than the mars! DARN!!!!!!!!!!! wired it up and poof! let the smoke out.
    went got another one poof!
then i called one of our best guys, of course he had like 3 years experience and knew way more than me! POOF!
I finally figured out that common did not mean neutral!!!!!!!

    LOL...

I left the magic smoke out of more then one of those dang things before I figured them out.

I had a harder time learning how to wire them up, then wiring up a heat pump.

First fan center that beat me up was when I was very green, on a Weil McLain boiler at 10 pm after a long day 30 miles from the shop or any parts house.

And every one of em has a wad of wiring in the box. umpteen wire nuts and a wad of spaghetti. they'll give you humility in a hurry. Once you do a couple tho, they're a piece of cake. Wiring diagram does help.

It was working on a Weil McLain that I first found out that not all fan relay centers are made the same.
