Wood to gas conversion?
I am converting an existing wood fireplace to gas logs. My problem is getting the gas line into the fireplace. This is my first time doing this and I want to make sure everything is to code. There is a ash door in the bottom of the fireplace that goes into the crawlspace. Would it be ok to run the gas line thru the bottom? I was planning to notch or remove the door and seal the opening after I ran the line so draft in the fireplace would not be affected. Has anyone ever done this before?

That's how we do gas lines all the time.
Not sure why anyone would want a gas log though.
