UA STAR??
What happens when you pass the UA STAR Exam? Does it guarantee Journeyman status and pay?

The UA Star is a masters exam for the HVAC journeyman there is also one for the plumbers and fitters some contractors may give you more per hourly pay some may not , its just another piece of paper certificate its really for the contractor they need so many UA Star techs to qualifly as a UA Star contractor for advertizing.
Arguing with your Boss is like wrestling with a pig in
mud.
After a while you realize that while you are getting
dirty, the pig is actually enjoying it.
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it
creative problem solving.

who passes it..is the question
638 calls for 80% of a companies tech to pass it to get the company a rating with the star..interesting when the 4th yr guys pass it,and the journeymen don't....even OEM guys are limited because they don't do actual installs and might be weak there...then slam it on big tonnage breakdowns...lube/freons/controls

you get a sticker for your truck and a piece of paper that shows you knew at least eighty percent of what was asked on the test. nothing more, nothing less.
