Fireplace recommendations?

I have been investigating fireplaces to supplement the heating of my home in South East Michigan. I have a 1900ft^2 home, with a inefficient Majestic fireplace, located in the family room on an exterior chase.
I am looking for a fireplace to have the following qualities:
1. Quality
2. Efficiency
3. Long burn times
4. Heat dumps to other rooms/basement
5. Quiet blowers
6. Good Appearance

Does anyone have any ideas/input? Other units I should investigate?
