If I am not mistaken I believe there is a tax credit of 30% up to $1500 for qualifying biomass fuel stoves or Wood Heat Stoves, Pellet Stoves, Fireplace Inserts.

They aren't tax exempt around here. Are you talking about a wood fireplace?

In Wisconsin when we install a fireplace the dealer pays a "use tax" and there is no sales tax to the customer. It is an improvement to their home.

There is no government tax credit for gas fireplaces.

Yes he is talking about a gas fireplace.
