Recently at the place I work a shippment of 24 cans of spary lube and six gallons of coil cleaner showed up.Both the spray lube and coil cleanner had been relabeled. The PO# that it was ordered on was one for another job that had been compleated six weeks ago. The total bill was $700.00.
The Company that shipped it is in Florida under the name of IPC , no address to ship it back just a PO box number. In talking to them on the phone they said they would not supply a return good number and if it was not paid for that it would be turned over to a collection agency. The company that I work for thinks some body supplied them with the PO# from the other job to make it looks as it was a legitimate purchase by the company hoping that it would be paid and no questions asked. Has anybody else had dealings with this company in this manner. Thanks Bob

Under postal law, you are not liable for anything that just arrives at your place, un-solicited.

This law protects scam artists from randomly mailing stuff that people never ordered and then getting paid for the stuff that was never ordered.

    Check with the BBB.

This company should have a listing in the Thomas Registry, available at your library.

Does postal law apply to things that were shipped FedEx. There is nothing special about the spray lube or coil cleaner, spray lube looks and smells like WD40 break down for the spray lube was about $19.00 per can.

Had this scam pulled on me lots of times. Its usually some "amazing" new cleaner or odor eliminator, lightbulbs, or copier toner.

But never had one with a valid PO before.

All the same, no return address, has a real person's name on the invoice as the PO or as the person who placed the order (they call and ask for the head of maintenance and hang up when the get the name).

I always just keep the stuff. They send threatening letters but so what. Letters don't hurt. They'll call accounting and demand payment but as long as they're in the loop, they eventually stop trying to get paid.

At those prices it must've been shipped to you by mistake, with the Pentagon being the intended recipient.
