Honeywell VisionPro 8000?
I have a honeywell vision pro 8000 T-stat but am curious about one thing.
I have been having a cooling problem with myold system and now the new system that was installed.
When the t-stat reaches the set point which is only when its not hot. It will mainatin there and seems to take hours for it to cycle off.
Is this normal?
Also temp.set at 75 and the temp is at set point. When i go and turn it down to 73degrees the inside temp display goes up to 76.
I have checked and the compressor/air handler both stay on so its not an issue with the equipment.
I am wonderingif this t-stat is bad or that is just the way the operate?
This certain model also does not display RH level and the box said it did, Is there a way to enable it?

The display temp prob goes up from sensing you touching it and standing next to it.
This model allows you to decrease summer humidity. The thermostat monitors humidity. When humidity increases, the thermostat runs the air conditioner longer to reduce humidity (up to 3°F below your cooling temperature setting). The intent is not to actually make the system reach the Relative Humidity setting; the intent is to make the home owner feel more "comfortable". This is done by moving the temperature set point down 1 degree for every 4% Relative Humidity.
Cannot tell from here but your system may be undersized. It sounds as though your T-Stat is working fine."War is cruelty, and you cannot refine it." Sherman to the leadership of Atlanta prior to burning the city.

To enable RH you'll need to read your manual regarding how that's done.
The temperature reading on the VisionPro is a bit sluggish and a little quirky. Does not affect performance of the stat, however.
As for the long run time during cooler weather, unless your cycle per hour setting is way goofy, likely a capacity issue with the a/c system itself."In this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics!"

Well I live in Houston and have been having a head ache for over 4 months know trying to get this System running good.
The house is well insulated and the duct work is brand new. Sealed very well. 1600 sq ft.
I think it might be over sized but for some odd reason it cant keep the temp at set point. I taught having an oversized system would cause short cycles?

I would call the installer and have them take care of this for you. But here is a link on this thermostat.

what you could easily do is have a humidistat hooked up that will slow down the blower on a call for dehumididfication
even if you had the 8000 that addresses dehumidification, it only overcools to dehumidify
as where if you had an IAQ stat or a humidistat added to your existing stat it would slow down the blower for true dehumidification
