Need a little advice on Cement board selection

Hey fellas, I'm in the middle of putting in a new bathroom in my home. In the shower/tub can i get away with using 1/4" durock or should I go with 1/2"
on the walls. I know this is an odd question for here, but i figured that most of us on here DIY alot. Any suggestions?

I went with the 1/2" and it worked out nicely. It was my first time using it and everything went smoothly. I'm putting 1/4" on the floor with electric radiant.......so the old ladies feet stay warm.
