Smile Parker acquires Micro Thermo Technologies

Just a few words to let you guys know that the "microthermites" are very pleased that we have been acquired by Parker Hannifin. We say goodbye and good luck to our Carrier friends.

    Thumbs up

    Hello MickeySq,

So very very much better, across the board. Working conditions, health plans, retirement plans, everything is better. The Sporlan people and Parker Hannifin Corporate people are much much more fun to work with. Of course, you could argue that we are still in the honeymoon phase.

One major difference is that Sporlan/Parker wants to invest in new R&D projects. In comparison, Carrier was just maintaining status-quo. Our R&D efforts were proportional to our sales and profits. That is no longer the case.

Speaking of case, our new case controller will be coming out this month on beta sites. Expect an official release in 2011.

Could not be happier. HVAC Talk looks so much better on a 24" HD wide screen display.

Tech support has always been free. Except for one supermarket chain where most refrigeration techs are given very few permissions as requested by the chain headquarters. In this case, as instructed by the chain headquarters, we charge the calls due to insufficient permissions to the refrigeration techs.

The merger will not change that. However the chain headquarters will soon be provided by us with 'big brother' tools allowing them to track instantly any changes done to any store, anywhere. They might decide to open up permissions, given their new tracking tools.

When the compressor board is requested to start the compressor, it does it, then waits for a certain number of seconds. It then looks up the compressor proof input. If the proof signal is not present, you get a compressor proof alarm.

In the Refrigeration Configuration Tool, this Compressor Proof Time is configurable. The default value is 3 seconds. If the compressor takes longer then that to confirm its proof, it would explain what you see. The value can be increased up to 3 minutes if need be.

Or, what you have is a loose connector on the proof in. Take out the removable connector. With one hand, hold the connector, with the other, pull hard on the wires. If one or two comes out, bingo.
