Evolution T Stat randomly changes Temp setting

    Thanks in advance for readying!

FWIW I am an electrician and have decent Trouble Shooting skills. In my own home I have 4 Evolution systems operating as 7 zones. A few weeks back I had company. On 3 or 4 occassions I find the AC set as Temp hold 65 or 66 on a subzone of the first floor system. My guests swore they did not touch anything. I had the scheduling on the zone to keep all 4 time frames set at 75. When I went back to check WTF went wrong, the schedule had changed and had to fix it. Like I had said, this happened at least 3 or 4 times. I dismissed it as kids/parents messing with it during the heat wave.

I get a call last week saying a client of mine has the exact same issue. HVAC guy says (Me, the electrician) must have miswired the 120v feed to the heater wrong even though it has been fine for 2 years so I am to blame for the random temp changes. Again, the T Stats randomly changing and setting themselves at 65. I call my HVAC guy he has no idea. I call Tech support, they really have no idea and suggest replacing all the T Stats since they are still under warranty.

Well, I get home tonight and a different zone set back to 65. This is the first time this zone has experiences this. This is a subzone of my 2nd floor system.

I have NEVER had this happen nor have I ever heard of it happening. Being in the trade, I'm sure I would have run across it before. I find it wierd that I am having it happen on different zones plus I have a client with the same issue.

In my home, both the 1st & 2nd floor systems that acted up have the small slave/remote T Stats. Both systems are on the same SAM unit if that matters.

The other job that has the same issues does not have remote T Stats. All of their systems are single zone.

Any ideas of where to look? I have checked the event log and nothing exciting shows up.

Thanks for any insite you can provide.

    K

No one here has ever experienced this or has a wild guess as to cause?

FWIW I disconnected the SAM unit at myhouse but its a shot in the dark IMHO.

Maybe the boys at Bryant were right. I am the only one. I find it highly unlikely that I have 2 systems and my client has the thrid in the entire country that has experienced this
