Robo there are extremists in Islam and they should be combatted. A "Marshall type plan" would have gone a lot further than another war. We even had Iranian help when it came to the Afghanistan War. We lost a good chance, the world was on our side. I know that is the past. But we can't bury the Constitution and become like them to combat this.
Liberals are so frustrating when they get hung up on their catch phrases!

What is a Muslim extremist? What does a Muslim extremist believe that every Muslim is not taught and expected to obey? It is the duty of every Muslim to work toward creating a single world order under Islam. Every Muslim who became what you are calling an extremist was manipulated into doing what the Qu'ran commands them to do. Depending on the circumstances of where a Muslim lives depends on the degrees of manipulation that are required. In the end, every Muslim must obey the laws of Islam over any other laws. The laws of Islam defy and have become dangerous to the United States of America on a political basis. We have already been attacked by Islam, more then a couple of times in the past three decades.

If you want to call those Muslims who attack Americans worldwide and who attacked the U.S. on American soil extremists, knock yourself out. Just understand that they were operating under the specific parameters of Islam that all Muslims must operate under.

Islam has always been, by it's very design, an enemy of all free countries. Now! Islam has once again become active in it's attempts to destroy everyone who defies Ilsamic law.

This is so not about religion any longer. Religion is a cover for the anti-American political organization known as Islam.

An interesting point of view, maybe pagie will get it, is that those muslims that even he calls extremists were not extremists until the second they did their act of terror.

By his own definition they were just muslims who were going along in life. So we shold put pagie in charge of running around the world labeling those muslims who have not done any terror yet as to who are the extremists and who are not. It seems that he knows.

Robo, right on and very, very well stated. Great addition to our discussion.

Doing anything now that will promote Islam in the U.S. is a straight forward matter of aiding and abeting a sworn enemy. Islam has declared war on the U.S. and has even attacked the U.S. Islam was the cause of this. Call those who actually commited the act of war "extremist Muslims" all you want, they are Muslims. As Muslims, they acted on behalf of Islam.

This is precisely the way it is. As long as Muslims were content with treating Islam as a religion and not pushing for an Islamic political system, there were no problems with Muslims living peacefully with non-Muslims. However, Islam is a political faction that requires Muslim's to become militant when the spread of Islam is once again in motion.

Just out of curiousity are you guys proposing to outlaw Islam? To deport everybody of the Islamic faith? Do you think even this conservative Supreme Court will uphold this? Bottom line this mosque is going to be built on this site unless the Muslim group agrees to move it.

Perhaps we should deport the supporters of our enemy first.

Unless Islam is willing to seperate itself completely from Muslim's who are actively commiting terror attacks worldwide, Yes. As a nation, we have the right to feel comfortable that persons belonging to organizations that do not recognize governments as being legitimate legal systems over and above religious beliefs as far as law is concerned are not going to do harm to our nation due to the laws of their organization.
To deport everybody of the Islamic faith?
Absolutely not. I still hold that most Muslims do not understand just what is expected of them from Islam. If Islam can be changed to a theological only religion, as is every other religion, and Muslims openly refuse to obey commands from the Qu'ran that command Muslim's to do harm to others, there is no reason that Muslims cannot be a vital part of the U.S. culture.
Do you think even this conservative Supreme Court will uphold this?
    What conservative Supreme Court?
Bottom line this mosque is going to be built on this site unless the Muslim group agrees to move it.
Maybe. If union workers in NYC refuse to work on the site, it will not be able to be built. If the Atlas Shrugged organization can get the building that the Muslim's own designated as an historical site from the 9-11 attacks because that building was damaged by flying debris directly from the aircraft that was used to hit the WTC, then that site will have a completely different designation.

However, you make a good point about just how dictatorial Islam is when even though there is massive opposition to what Muslim's want to do, they will do it anyway.

As non-Muslims, we must make it very clear to all that this proposed building will be a dedication to the success of an Islamic attack on the U.S., just as the Dome of the Rock and thousands of other mosques around the world are.

If this building gets built, Muslims worldwide will know that Islam is stronger then the U.S.

Just as an FYI; I do not support deporting anyone over this. As long as all parties are willing, we can all live together in harmony.

"What conservative Supreme Court?" Our conservative Supreme Court.

As I understand it the building already does not qualify for an historical site.

Good question. We both know that that is impossible, impratical and, well, impossible as well as against what we stand for.

But we should hold their feet to the fire for a definition of who they truly are based on their past and present actions.

If we find them to be enemies of the state, those found to be enemies should pay the consequence. That's our justice system in action.

Remember, we have a religious organization existing in this country, as an example and not as a comparason, that promotes yelling and screeming unbelievable and cruel things at returning GI's who are about to be burried.

And we, even the friends and families of these GI's who have lost their lives, realize at some level that even they must protect the rights of those idiots that perform these horrific and distasteful actions.

I agree, I'd be surprised if the govn. doesn't keep a close eye on this place and even plant spies etc.

Yep, it would be the Federal Government's, as least the old one, duty to protect us.
