And how to get an idea of what size the old unit is weather or not the model number can be read.

Just need to know what/where to look at.
Small EG:
An 1-1/8" vapor line on a compressor gives it away that it isn't a 3 ton unit.

LOL...
Changed out a stat on a Ruud 10 ton split sometime ago. Set teh stat to cool, and the heat came on.
Thats when I found out that on their commercial units(atleast some of them). They use the RV like everyone else does.

There out there. This one, was 1 of 2, for a gymnasium at a church.

The unit is really old and everything has been changed out at one point or another. So when I looked all over the unit nothing came up. This is a office complex that is owned by the company I work for. In an effort to figure out the model number I went from one roof top to the next to find a unit that was the same. Third building was a charm! Thanks for all the help, and the insults. Being new to this I know I have room for improvement so I will lurk most of the time and post when I feel I have something to add.
