Problems with XCI Controls/EcoJay Res. zone controls?
Anyone using these controls have problems with zone board failures after thunderstorms? Model#s: SZ-2D, SZ-4D.

This is typically caused by power surges. This 24V board cannot handle more than 30V without causing failure or problems. I highly recommend that you install a line voltage surge protector at wherever you have installed your transformer and install one on the 24V connection. You can not have too much surge protection.

Got word on this issue from manfacturer that the "wiring" on the board was incorrect. The thunderstorms were just coincidental. This issue has been resolved by the manufacturer.
