What do you guys use to cut the fins away?
gonna try and fix my first leak in a outdoor unit its leaking right on the top pipe going into the outdoor coil, so I only need to splice in about 3 or 4 inches of copper but wondering what to cut the fins back with maybe a metal blade by hand? I was a service tech for about 12yrs but i never had to fix a leak in a outdoor coil I went into the sales side of this buisness for prob this reason lol.

Mr. Bill is right. With a good pair of needle nose pliers you can remove just the about of fins that you need to. Keep that heat real low. That copper could be real thin.
