Mike Dixon is at it again
Last fall Mike Dixon posted an ad in the St. Louis Craigslist for affordable training in HVAC. There are already at least 4 accredited trade schools in the St. Louis area and there are not enough jobs for the people that graduate from them.
Why on earth would anybody attend his classes? It is 3 hours 1 night a week for 4 months. How much can you actually learn from roughly 40 hours of training? Last year he was asking 3 grand for this bogus training.
Here is a link to the ad http://stlouis.craigslist.org/lab/1893121036.html
Notice how he doesn't even take the time to make sure everything is spelled right. What an idiot.

My doctor gave me six months to live, but when I couldn't pay the bill he gave me six months more.

Education, whether at a well known University or a small trade school, is a FOR PROFIT business. The owners and managers of most schools are more interested in the $$$ than teaching... It is just the teachers that care.
This is a SHAME, because lots of $$$ is wasted on education... And a generous amount of that $$$ is govt handouts... Need I say more?
Maybe a little twist on the old adage about Communism: They pretend to teach us and we pretend to learn...GA-HVAC-Tech

Amen, but it isn't communism it is pure corporate greed aided buy lobbied for student aid to schools that charge exorbinant amounts of money for an "education". I know there are good schools and good instructors. My main criticism is for the schools that gouge their students.
Give me a newbie wanna be tech, then hand me the going tuition rate, and I will have them out on their own in a few years if they cut the muster in the beginning.
Many people re-training to be HVAC/R techs will never make it in this field after their "book Learnin'". This job can actually be hard, both mentally and physically. I worked in 105* heat today on a roof. Not many can do that.
We HVAC/R techs get used to it.Signature on hold. Trying to find a real Jefferson quote I like. Others here have bogus Jefferson quotes too.

The only problem is this isn't a small trade school. My guess is that his students sit on 5 gallon buckets in a garage behind his shop.
You are right though. It is all about the money. With the economy the way it is, his regular business is probably down so he sees this as an opportunity to make extra money by taking advantage of people that are out of work and desperate for a quick fix to find a new career.
