Thread: Service valve gland nut tool

Looking for packing gland key, packing gland sockets for tightening slotted internal packing gland nuts on service valves. It'll slide over the valve stem and engage two slotted recesses in the gland nut. Know they exist, father had them. Can't locate them anywhere.

Roninair made these years ago, been discontinued
maybe Robinaire has some surplus left over

Yellow-Jacket still manufactures this tool, looks like service valve wrench, and has packing gland tool.

If you cant find one deep socket and a grinder can make one.

Klein, YellowJacket both make them. Check your supplier, they should be available.

Another idea. I have spanner wrenches form McMaster-Carr for those and the unloaders on Copeland comps. A little bit of grinding on them and they are fine.

ask your sporlan factory rep, they have the tool for the packing nut and adjustment stem for txv.

I GOT MINE THROUGH PAMECO OR GUSTAVE LARSON, ALOT OF THE MANUFACTURES LIKE YOU TO REPLACE THE VALVES, SPORLAN HAS A JUNK ONE, AND THE ALCO COMPANY HAS A NUT THAT SLIDES DOWN OVER THE TOP AND U CAN USE A CRESENT WRENCH TO TURN IT LOOSE IT HAS THE TWO PEGS ALSO, FOR THE SLOTS, i THEN GOT A FLAT PIECE OF STEEL AND WELDED IT TO IT! AND , PROBABLY WHN I NEED IT I WON BE ABLE TO FIND IT, I GOT IT FOR THE UNLOADERS AND THE SOLENIOD VALES TO REBUILD THEM IT BEATS SWEATING AND THE THREE R'S
