    Trane Rooftop troubleshooting

    Hi guys,
Took over a new building that has a Trane SEHFC30EH*35C5BD3001ATG
    30 Ton with electric heat.
Unit has tripped out, and will restart after resetting the knife switch.
Tried to go into the Diagnostics mode to see the fault...but panel does not permit me to view???? Can scroll through the Setup OK...but will not let me in to view the setup, configuration, service mode.
Is there a special manner in gaining acess? This does have a remote stat on
3rd floor, where a time and date can be enter, as well as schedule placed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Tim

Do any of the other buttons not function? I've seen where half of the panel will work and the other half won't. Sometimes it's top/bottom or side/side. It's a pretty simple fix if that's the case.

there are secret codes and hand shakes to get into certain menus, but you have a failed Human Interface (HI). there is a free fix for it, however, you have to do it everytime you use it and it requires some disassembly so some assembly will then be required. buy a new HI...only takes a few minutes to change it out and there isn't any programming required...all of the information resides in the boards.

I got used to seeing stickers near the HI that have the codes.

    Don't all units have them?

the board itself is not faulty...it is the keypad so keep the old board around.
