    Understanding Trane Units

I am trying to find out about a older Trane unit.

The Air Handler is Model # TWE040E13FA1 and S/N M4956H91V

    The Condenser is Model # TTF042A100A0 and S/N M2535YBHF

If anyone can tell me the age or seer rating, my mother is wanting to buy this used unit and I'm trying to find out about it. Please help.

    TTF042A is a 1997 14seer 3.5 ton a/c only.

TWE040E I "think" thats a variable speed air handler up to 3.5 tons.

Unless this unit has been sitting in a box in the back of somebody's warehouse for 13 years. I am hoping you will "persuade" her against it. Don't let anybody tell you it's not been run much or very well taken care of either.
I like DIY'ers. They pay better to fix.
