I just got off the phone with a nice lady who takes care of the corrective action for goodman (janitrol) and Amana. This is reguarding the plexvent and ultravent pipe installed with furnaces. They sell the HO a furnace at cost and pay less than 400 for materials and labor to install it.

Do you know about this program
    what's up with that?

She said I could submit a proposal for approval for more loot.

Do you know what their 'cap' is for payouts?

I have only referred contractors to that service, I don't get into it myself.

Personally, I liked the plexivent. I looked like a habitrail for flue gases.

It WAS pretty cool looking. I still remember going to a furnace class at the Goodman distributorship and they were pushing that stuff. Thank goodness I'm such a cynic

Then there was the time they were trying to get us all to sell the the infamous 3rd party warranty where the guy stole everybody's money and left for the tropics. I think several manufacturers were using him.

I was still cynical then, lucky for me again.

Robo....Are you familiar with Captain Harvey's Subs on Dundalk Avenue?....cravin a steak sub from there...makes a "Philly" steak sub look like roadkill. wonder if it's still in business ..was a hole in the wall but people would be lined up.

Was also remembering the place just west of Loch Raven white wooden bldg that was famous for milkshakes and burgers...once in a blue moon I get homesick.

Maybe if I make the next convention I'll look up these old haunts...realize its probably all changed. Am I still on your ignore list? Oh .. if I am you can't reply.

How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?

Captain Harvey's just came up in a conversation with the other teachers at the ABC apprenticeship school. As far as one of the teachers knows it is still there. We were talking about places famous for food in different areas and Captain Harvey's and Lake Trout in Pimlico came up.

Hell, the Circle BBQ only went out of business about 10 years ago. The building is there but the name has changed. In the 60s and 70s that little BBQ joint was known nationwide for the hotroders that hung out there.

Dundalk Avenue was listed as one of the top race strips on the East Coast.

It's amazingly the same. What is wild is that there are now million dollar homes going up on the water in Dundalk.

For those of you who may be wondering what is up with Dundalk, MD; it is a section of Baltimore City that surrounds the dry dock and marine terminals and is near the steel mills. Has for years been a blue collar, union area that was not really violent but could get a bit rough at times. After all, dock workers and steel workers just wanna have fun. It is affectionately known to others in the Baltimore area as "Dumbdalk".

It's been awhile but didn't goodman initiate their own program for taking care of plex vent and ultra vent installs? They were offering a power venter or a 90% furnace upgrade. I thought this was directly from goodman.
I have my own little world. But it's OK...they know me here.

That is what the OP is referring to. Goodman is one of the few companies that took responsibility for this system not being what the plex-vent manufacturers had claimed it to be.

Try getting something out of some of the other brands on this issue.
