I know it has been batted around but is your co. doing it yet?
We have been thinking of adding $5.00 per invoice, min. Going to forewarn our major accounts.

We've been adding $5.00 for about 6 months now with not one single complaint. This charge goes on any call, period.

Wow, $5.00 per invoice as a fuel surcharge and nobody has complained? I guess most people don't really think about it since it is only $5.00.
In my area, it only costs $10-$15 per 32 gallon tank to fill up than it did a couple of years ago. A $5 surcharge per call + say 20 calls per tank of gas = $100!
If nobody is complaining, more power to you, every little bit extra helps. I would stay away from adding it as an itemized charge though. Stuff like that WILL anger some people. They may just pay it without saying anything, but it does have an impact on thier perception of you.
Anyone else find it somewhat amusing that people will complain about $2.00/gal gas while standing there at the pump drinking $10/gal bottled water or $50/gal coffee?
